AquaLink questions, answered
Is the AquaLink wheelchair accessible?
Yes, fully. The AquaLink accommodates both motorized and non-motorized wheelchairs, and the dock at Alamitos Bay Landing is step-free.
Can I bring my dog?
Service animals ride free and are always welcome. Companion pets are allowed too as long as they stay in a carrier.
Can I bring my bike?
Yes. Strollers, bikes, and wheelchairs are all welcome aboard the AquaLink, and the boat has dedicated space for them. Ride over, lock up at the marina, and roll home along the beach path after dinner.
Can I drink on board?
Yes. The AquaLink has onboard food and beverage service with a full bar: cocktails, wine, beer, and snacks. Consider it the first round before dinner.
Do I need a reservation for the boat?
No. Boarding is first come, first served. Arrive at the dock about 5 minutes early (15 minutes at the Queen Mary), and note that the final trips of the night can fill up, so have a backup plan for the ride home.
How do I pay?
Three ways: credit card on board (Visa and Mastercard), the RideLBT app, or exact cash (the crew cannot make change). TAP cards, including GoPass, are not accepted on the water taxis.
What's the AquaBus? Is that the same thing?
Different boat. The AquaBus is the small $1 water taxi that loops Rainbow Harbor downtown only, and it does not come to Alamitos Bay. To reach Boathouse on the Bay, you want the AquaLink.
