For fifteen years, Long Beach's Fourth of July belonged to the bay: free fireworks over the water, flyovers, live music, and millions raised for local kids. Here is where the tradition stands today, and how we are carrying its spirit into America's 250th birthday.

Where Things Stand
There will not be a Big Bang on the Bay in 2026.
The California Coastal Commission did not approve our permit for the 2026 show. After fifteen years on Alamitos Bay, that decision means the fireworks will go dark this Fourth of July, and we are not going to pretend that is anything other than a hard loss for our community.
Big Bang has always been more than a fireworks show. It is the night Naples, the Peninsula, and the whole Alamitos Bay neighborhood gather on the water together, and along the way it has raised more than two million dollars for Long Beach youth nonprofits. Losing a year of that stings.
We are not letting it go. Our team is already working hard to bring Big Bang on the Bay back in 2027, and we will share news here the moment we have it.

We are still celebrating America's 250th on the water.
Rather than step back entirely, we have joined the City of Long Beach to help shape its Fourth of July celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States. It is called Sea to Shining LBC: a weeklong, citywide salute to America's 250th that stretches across the Long Beach coastline and closes with a free fireworks finale on Saturday, July 4.

The Legacy
More than $2M raised for Long Beach youth.
Every ticket and donation over the years flowed directly to local nonprofits supporting Long Beach's youth. The show has benefited the Boys & Girls Club of Long Beach, along with organizations like the Action Sports Kids Foundation, Children Today, Los Altos YMCA, and the Autism Partnership Foundation.
