Position summary
The Host / Hostess is often the first point of contact for our guests. This role helps create a warm arrival, supports the flow of the dining room, and communicates clearly with the service team.
Essential duties & responsibilities
- Welcome guests with a calm, friendly, and professional presence.
- Coordinate seating flow and help maintain an organized front entrance.
- Communicate guest needs and timing clearly with servers, managers, and other team members.
- Support the dining room team during busy service periods.
- Follow Boathouse hospitality, safety, and cleanliness standards.
Qualifications & experience
- A guest-first attitude and clear communication are essential.
- Previous hospitality, guest-service, or customer-facing experience is helpful.
- Ability to stay organized and composed in a busy restaurant environment.
- Reliable attendance and a willingness to work a restaurant schedule.
Physical requirements
- This role includes standing and walking for extended periods.
- The work may include bending, reaching, and moving through an active dining room.
Work environment
A lively restaurant and waterfront environment with changing guest volume, teamwork, and regular evening or weekend service.
