The Story of Mum's

A Long Beach favorite, brought back to the table.

In 1988, John Morris opened Mum's in Long Beach. It was the kind of place a neighborhood adopts. California cuisine, fresh seafood, and a dining room that filled with regulars who came back for the same dishes year after year.

For more than fifteen years, Mum's was where Long Beach celebrated. Anniversaries and first dates, Sunday dinners and last-minute Tuesdays. When the doors closed in 2004, the recipes did not disappear. They simply waited.

Today John runs Boathouse on the Bay. More than twenty years later, he is bringing a handful of those classics back to the table, at the exact prices guests paid in 2004. Not as a discount, but as a way of remembering.

These were some of our guests' favorite dishes. Bringing them back at their original prices felt like the perfect way to celebrate where we came from.
