Long Beach has plenty of brunch options. What we''ve got that none of them do: the bay itself.
We''ve been serving weekend brunch on this patio for years, and the rule we keep coming back to is simple: the light off Alamitos Bay at 11 AM is too good to waste on a dinner-only service. So Saturday and Sunday mornings, we open the kitchen, set up the patio, and let the water do half the work. The other half is the food and the hospitality — but the bay is the unfair advantage.
What to actually order
Our weekend breakfast menu reads like a coastal Sunday morning. A few things you should know about:
- Lobster Benedict ($30) — 4oz of Maine Lobster claw split across two toasted English muffins, poached eggs, hollandaise, and confit home fries. The most photographed plate on the menu, for good reason.
- Bayside Omelette ($28) — lobster, shrimp, crab, mushrooms, green onion, and Swiss, with crispy potatoes. Three Boathouse seafoods in one omelette.
- Polynesian Loco Moco ($22) — Boathouse''s signature wagyu beef patty over jasmine rice with Japanese rice seasoning and nori, sautéed Maui onions, Polynesian shoyu brown gravy, and a sunny-side-up egg. Not your standard brunch dish; that''s the point.
- Carne Asada Breakfast Burrito ($25) — grilled carne asada, scrambled eggs, peppers, pico de gallo, cotija, crispy potatoes, and Spanish rice. Black beans and sour cream on the side.
- Brioche French Toast ($21) — our signature bread pudding, sliced and seared golden, finished with fresh berry compote and caramel mascarpone, with a drizzle of maple syrup. Comes with bacon or sausage.
- Classic Eggs Benedict ($19) — poached eggs, Canadian bacon, hollandaise, and confit home fries. The benchmark order if you''re measuring a brunch by its benedict.
- Avocado Toast ($19) — toasted wheat, avocado, heirloom tomato, lime crema, red onion, arugula, crunchy garlic and sesame seeds, fresh fruit. Add an egg ($3) or bacon ($5).

- Tito''s Bloody Mary ($8) — house mix, properly built. Lunch in a glass.
- Regatta Colada ($17) — Myers''s blonde rum, Disaronno amaretto, Giffard orgeat, fresh lime juice, and pineapple. Tropical, brunch-on-vacation vibes. Contains almonds.

Saturday brunch vs. Sunday brunch
Saturday brunch at Boathouse is the more energetic of the two. Most tables are couples and small groups; the bar fills up around noon. If you want a patio table before 12:30, plan to arrive at 10:30 AM or have a reservation.
Sunday brunch is a slower vibe. More families, more long lingering tables, more groups letting brunch turn into early afternoon drinks. The patio is unbeatable on a clear Sunday — and it''s the most-asked-about table in the restaurant.

What days is brunch served at Boathouse?
Saturday and Sunday only, 10:30 AM – 2 PM. We don''t serve breakfast or brunch Monday through Friday — the kitchen opens for dinner at 4 PM Tuesday through Sunday (we''re closed all day Monday). If you need a midweek food + drink fix, our Happy Hour runs 4–6 PM with $10 cocktails and small plates.
Where''s the best waterfront brunch in Long Beach?
Boathouse on the Bay, weekends 10:30 AM – 2 PM at 190 N Marina Dr. We''re the only Long Beach restaurant where you can have brunch directly on Alamitos Bay — most places that call themselves "waterfront" are actually facing a parking lot or a busy street.
Do you offer mimosas?
We do — by the bottle. Our Bottle of Bianchi Sparkling ($19) comes with your choice of orange or cranberry juice, set up at your table for the group to share. We don''t run a "bottomless" pour because the bottle service stays colder, fresher, and lets the table control the ratio.
